of Parasitic Diseases National Center for Infectious Diseases Centers for
Disease Control and Prevention, USA - The
mission of the Division of Parasitic Diseases is to prevent and control
parasitic diseases in the United States and throughout the world through
laboratory and epidemiologic research, surveillance, and service; and to
increase survival of children in developing countries through broad-based
child survival programs. We accomplish this mission by conducting laboratory
and field investigations and by providing diagnostic, consultative, and
epidemiologic services and training. We carry out our mission in a workplace
that promotes professional development and recognizes the importance of
the individual and the team, and through partnerships with other organizations,
agencies, and individuals. Our services are provided to health care professionals;
state, local, and federal agencies; national and international organizations;
and the public.
