TAD
(Trans-Activated Defensin HNP mRNA) is a member of a class
of potentially powerful anti-HIV agents that exploit the cell-killing activity
of endogenous anti-microbial peptides found in human phagocytes. TAD selectively
kills HIV infected cells by translating a toxic peptide into the endoplasmic
reticulum; the toxic peptide then penetrates the nuclear membrane, and
